In my last couple of blogs I shared information about the science of the human energy field or biofield.. And shared about the difference between the mind and the brain.

The reason I am sharing more about the biofield recently is because humanity is evolving to the point where we need to work with the biofield and our energy CONSCIOUSLY.

What have we learned so far about the field?

Here is a short list of information available about the biofield but it is a good start.

  1. human auraMore information about the human energy field is emerging from the scientists involved with the Foundation for Alternative and Integrative Medicine (FAIM). In her article,  “Measurement of the Human Biofield and Other Energetic Instruments” Beverly Rubik, PhD states: 
     “The human body emits low-level light, heat, and acoustical energy; has electrical and magnetic properties; and may also transduce energy that cannot be easily defined by physics and chemistry. All of these emissions are part of the human energy field, also called the biologic field, or biofield.

  2. The biofield consists of higher frequencies of light.  The colours of chakras were measured by Valerie Hunt and her instruments.
  3. We know that the biofield is non-local, or not physical as we experience it. It is constantly in motion.
  4. The field created by the heart as measured by the scientists at HeartMath Institute is a part of this overall biofield. The heart’s field carries emotional information and can be sensed by others.
  5. The biofield includes the chakras and meridian systems.
  6. The biofield also consists of what we might call the mind field that flows throughout the body and beyond.
  7. The biofield connects directly with the endocrine system at a physical level and to universal energy or universal awareness or mind at the non-local level.
  8. The biofield carries emotional energy within it and expands or contracts with our emotions. Positive feelings expand the field; negative feelings contract the field. So do thoughts. It is essential to become an avid student of your thoughts.
  9. Whatever you experience through your senses is registered in your biofield first, then the body.

Getting to know your field

Here is an exercise to help you tune into your biofield.

Sensing outside of your skin

Emotions can be localized in the physical body. They are also projected out into your biofield.

  1. Bring your awareness to the air just outside of your skin to about 6 to 12 inches away from your skin. Notice if there is any sensation there. You are gathering information, you might notice a sensation or you might not. Write down what you notice in your journal.
  2. Now, think of something recently that made you feel frustrated or angry. Be with this feeling and really sense it for about one minute. After this minute, shift your awareness to the air just outside of your skin to about 6 to 12 inches away from your skin. Notice if there is any sensation there. Notice if it feels differently from your experience in #1. You are gathering information, you might notice a sensation or you might not. Write down what you notice in your journal.
  3. Next, think of something you are grateful for. Be with this feeling and feel it expand for about one minute. After this minute, shift your awareness to the air just outside of your skin to about 6 to 12 inches away from your skin. Notice if there is any sensation there. Notice if it feels differently from your experience in #1 and #2. You are gathering information, you might notice a sensation or you might not. Write down what you notice in your journal.

I invite you to play with this awareness over the next week, until my next blog. Your biofield, especially when it is expanded, connects with everything in your environment and is affected especially by other people in your environment. Your biofield shifts whenever you are in the mall and when you are walking in a forest or by the river.
