The 111 Hz Tuning Forks
Based on the 111 Hz difference tone of the Solfeggio forks, this fork can be used to reduce anxiety, stimulate 3rd eye balance, TMJ release, and more.
The frequency of 111 Hz is significant for a number of reasons:
It is the main firing frequency of the Purkinje cells in the cerebellum, as found in a 1994 study from the California Institute of Technology. The cerebellum has 80% of the neurons in the human brain. The cerebellum helps the body to co-ordinate movement and also assists with cognitive and social functions. The Purkinje cells function like a hub that receives information and transmits it to the nuclei neurons that send instructions to the brain. Damage to these cells can lead to neuro-degenerative disorders, autism, hyper-reactivity, tremors, difficulty with movement and spatial awareness, autoimmune disorder and more.
In clinical practice, the frequency of 111 Hz has been used in the Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulator to successfully treat anxiety, depression, insomnia, enhancing memory and brain function and more. The Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulator has been in use since the 1970s and are cleared for use by the FDA in the United States.
Dr. Ian Cook, an American psychiatrist and associate professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles’s David Geffen School of Medicine is also a research scientist at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. Since 2008, Dr. Cook has published research on the effects of 110 Hz and 111 Hz on the human brain activity showing a shift from predominantly left sided to right sided activity. This shift impacts mood, empathy and social behavior.
Dr. Cook also reports in his research that many prehistoric, megalithic sites around the world were build to enhance the acoustic resonance of between 95 and 125 Hz with the majority of them enhancing the frequencies of 110 or 111 Hz.
In the Solfeggio tuning fork set, 111 Hz is the difference between six pairs of consecutive forks.
The 111 Hz fork can support the activation of the Zeal Point Chakra. The Zeal Point Chakra at the base of the skull at the location of the medulla oblongata, has many names: the chakra of the cerebellum, the ascension chakra, jade pillow, mouth of God, brain door. It is believed that this chakra is beginning to open in many people. Applying this activation is covered in the Advanced Methodologies course.
