This week’s article is a dive into emotional clutter. Many of us can have some pretty big dust bunnies here.
Sound is superbly effective at clearing out emotional dust bunnies!
The human being’s emotional life is so rich and filled with challenge and joy! Our emotions can make us sicker than any virus going around. Or healthy, resilient and strong.
Emotions are life force energy. Emotional health is an essential element of overall wellbeing.
Candace Pert gave us a whole new perspective on emotions based on her research in neuropeptides and their receptors. She says in her book, Molecules of Emotion:
“We can no longer think of the emotions as having less validity than physical, material substance, but instead must see them as cellular signals that are involved in the process of translating information into physical reality, literally transforming mind into matter. As we have seen, the neuropeptides and their receptors are the substrates of the emotions, and they are in constant communication with the immune system, the mechanism through which health and disease are created … Your body is your subconscious mind.”
Imagine for a moment, the last time something really intense happened to you. Especially when you were unable to ‘process’ those feelings right away. What happens to the feelings?
Many of us stuff these emotions somewhere into our bodies. In some cases this is okay because we are unable to deal with them when they are created.
The problem occurs when we forget that these emotions are stuffed there and they start to fester. Emotions are meant to keep moving. It’s even in the word itself – e-motion.
These stuffed emotions can affect your health in a big way. When emotions get stuck within they usually start creating a physical problem.
Like not being able to sleep. Digestive problems like irritable bowel syndrome. Heart palpitations. A racing mind. And so much more.
What makes this even worse is that these stuck emotions are like junk food for the critical voice of the ego that gives us an ongoing diatribe of fearful thoughts. That just amplifies the symptoms.
Especially if you tend to live your life more from your head than from a partnership between the head and heart.
As far as emotions are concerned, the heart runs the show. The head goes along for the ride unconsciously or consciously. The choice is yours.
I encourage you to contemplate these questions:
1. Do I tend to experience my life more from my head?
2. Do I tend to experience my life more from my heart?
The interesting thing about sound is that it can shake up, loosen and/or dissolve some of this stagnant emotional energy.
This gives you some space and clarity.
How does it do that?
Sound is vibrational energy. It is a very physical force, because as it moves through you it pushes atoms and molecules around.
Your wiring for sound has deep roots to every atom of our body and throughout the energetic networks.
When you get thrown for a loop, sound and certain choices of music WILL reset you and put you back on your feet to handle your day from a stronger place.
Our emotions have great power over our state of health and harmony in our lives. They also have a deep connection with the unconscious mind. For many of us, healing has to do with clearing some of these old emotional blocks and the more tools we have in our toolkit, the better. Sound is a great tool. It is the stuff of creation itself and works at all levels of our being.
