From Sharon . . .

A few days ago I spent over an hour on the phone with a person who had been working with sound frequencies and these frequencies had put her into considerable distress and chaos – emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.

I want to emphasize a couple of IMPORTANT points here:

NOT ALL SOUNDS ARE GOOD FOR YOU! – and –

EVERY ONE OF US RESPONDS UNIQUELY TO SOUND AND MUSIC!

Many of you may know that I have a huge curiosity about everything SOUND. Well, I can tell you that sometimes this curiosity to experience sound has gotten me into some pretty big distress.

My most recent lesson a few years ago was with a machine that delivered ‘healing’ frequencies that helped all kinds of conditions. Well, it did work well – for lots of people.

It did NOT work well for me. It put my entire field and physical body into severe stress, illness (flu-like symptoms) and total imbalance.

I was a MESS! To put it mildly!

After a LONG session with my favorite healer it was cleared up enough to allow my own body’s healing response and my continued work with sounds that I KNOW work for me, to gradually clear it up and bring me back to harmony.

I have always had a deep RESPECT for the IMMENSE power of sound. I guess I needed this reminder.

Sound IS a great tool for creating harmony, health and wellness –

BUT – it needs to be used with great DISCERNMENT.

So, to give you another perspective on this issue, I asked Rea Vanlie to write an article for you on her experience with sound.

I met Rea when she and her family attended our workshop a few years ago. She is awesome – Keep on reading….

“Cooperation requires conversation.”!

And Integrity requires listening…!

Hello, My name is Rea K. Vanlie and I am an intuitive life coach, artist and mother from Red Deer AB.

I am a born medium, trained artist and proud mom of two teens. I hold dual degrees in fine arts and psychology from the University of Calgary and I have been asked to share my story with you by Sharon and Ed, two people whom I hold near and dear to my heart.

As with any history, the part of my story relevant to this requested share, begins with an ending…

In 2003 was newly graduated and preparing for graduate school, I was a doting mom to two fantastic kids, was newly divorced, a type “A” personality and a lady ready to take the world by storm….and indeed a storm in the world I was about to find.

And as a result I have spent the last decade relearning how to listen to the sounds of my own body. You read that right…the sound of my own body.

Hearing my clients/kids/friends & families bodies, well…that has always been easy, for me.

But my own body, I kinda ignored that part of me, for a really long time. And to be honest it’s kind of a big piece of meat to ignore, since it requires a lot of awareness to keep it running in harmony.

When I graduated from university I had one motto “ how may I serve you “, and now, now I have the motto “ how can I best serve us”. You might be wondering ( or not ) what sort of storm provokes such a change in perspective and to be honest it’s nothing new.

I got sick. I got really sick, in fact first…I died. I woke up one day and my appendix ruptured, 6 months after I graduated. I lived, I developed toxemia , I spent 36 hours in surgery, and 6 weeks in hospital.

And that was the easy part.

For the next decade I would deal with new and confusing symptoms that made no sense, except that I was sensing them, experiencing them and feeling them everyday.

“The range of frequencies that can be detected by humans is 20-23,000 Hz.”

Skip ahead a decade, 28 specialist physicians, 23 hospital stays and an incredible emergency room nurse who simply listened and viola! You have an inherited metabolic disorder that causes all sorts of fun and crazy chaos in my body system to learn about.

The most interesting part about being someone who is structurally “unsound” half the month due to metabolic seizures is that…when you are “unsound”…it seems to be when you can hear your body the most.

Over the last few years I have come to recognize the importance of sound & silence. Some days I need silence to survive and some days I need song. I no longer look at the world in the framework of good or bad. I hear it, as simply healthy, or unhealthy.

When Sharon approached me to write this article a week ago I was very excited… “sound integrity” is an area of great interest for me personally and as a coach. I learned very quickly early on in my “unsoundness” that some noises are healthy for me, and some noises are unhealthy for me.

Which was demonstrated to Ed and Sharon during a Sound Wellness course I attended when I was unable to participate in a single “Brain Entrainment” sound listening section.

If I listened, I would immediately be put into a seizure. Due to the fact that I can feel the auras of my seizures before they hit, I would remove myself from the class. This is how I take care of myself. This is what I have come to know as true self-love or healthy creation.

I had learned years earlier while working in a bookstore, quite by accident, that brain entrainment “music” would trigger an immediate seizure while I was working. It took me almost a month to figure this fact out, and I probably wouldn’t have figured it out if it hadn’t been for an extremely knowledgeable co-worker who recognized what was happening due to prior experience with it in the past.

“Many insects also have hairs on the exterior of the body which vibrate in response to sound waves of specific frequencies, depending on the stiffness and length of the hairs. The hairs are often tuned to frequencies of sounds produced by the same or other species. These hairs may be used to detect mates or predators. “

Now as a coach I teach this principle through the process of inner listening…otherwise known as intuition or “sound integrity”. Intuition, sound integrity and inner knowing is often deeply misunderstood or attached to the mystical. But as a medium I have always known that intuition is simply inner hearing, and the ability to simply listen, and hear the appropriate path for you and your body.

Like dogs, who sniff each others bums, we listen to the energetic light frequency of each others bodies and the environments we live in.

Like our ancestors these snap belly feelings or sound bits allow us to know whether something feels good/healthy or bad /unhealthy for us. It allows us to discern for personal body maintenance and wellbeing. It allows us to stay safe and healthy.

In our technological age with its multi frequency environments, synthetic scented beautification, we often forget that we are still mammals built of trillions of cells that communicate through the language of chemical light frequencies & sound.

I recommend learning your body’s cries, wails, screams, sighs, giggles, blips, or gurgles, for they are the secret language of your soul’s desire for a healthy path in life.

As a life coach, a mother and a human being this is the single most important principle in life I live to share and I hope it aids you in hearing the sound of your own being and allowing it to speak.
