The 9 Nine Year Cycle
A new year gives us so many opportunities to begin again. This weekend, we not only turn the calendar page to a new year, we begin a whole new 9 year cycle!
This is enormous!! For your business or work – for your personal life – and for our entire human family!
The Energies of 9 and 1
Our ancestors from the distant past held sophisticated and detailed knowledge about the power of numbers, the planets and music (or sound) and how deeply these things affect us.
In the ancient field of numerology, the year 2016 was a 9 year, that is, the numbers in 2016 add up to 9 (2 + 0 + 1 + 6 = 9). The year 2017 is a 1 year, that is, the numbers in 2017 add up to 1 (2 + 0 + 1 + 7 = 10 and 10 becomes 1 + 0 = 1) in our system of numbers from 1 to 9.
In many ancient cultures the numbers from 1 to 9 had great significance. In daily life, this translates to a 9 year cycle. Each year in the cycle has a different energy and purpose as you move from creativity and creation (the energy of 1) to completion (the energy of 9).
There is great significance when you transition from the end of a nine year cycle to the beginning of a new nine year cycle.
Here is what my good friend, Vikki MacKinnon says about the 9 personal year in her book, “Please Take a Number: Numerology for Real Life and Everyday Success.” Whether or not you are in a personal 9 year, this energy has been affecting our whole human family for 2016.
“This is your year of endings, a time of completion and release. It is the most important year of your nine year cycle. You are bringing to a conclusion what you have learned and created in the precious eight years and completely integrating it into your present life. This year you are getting ready for change and new beginnings, and cannot be burdened by what belongs to your past. “ (p. 39)
Here is what Vikki says about the 1 personal year:
“If you are in a 1 personal year, you are beginning a new nine year cycle. This is a time to be creative and innovative, to take action, and follow new opportunities that will come your way. There is work to be done as you are laying new foundations and opening up to new opportunities. (p. 15)
How a 9 year cycle can Manifest in Your Life
Let me give an example of what can happen during a nine year cycle from my own experience.
In 2007 (nine year), I was powerfully guided to reduce my music teaching. For me, this was equivalent to losing a job, not knowing what was coming next.
In 2008 (one year), I received a call from the Integrative Health Institute asking me to create a program as one of the facilitators in a study on stress management using sound and music. The program was so well received that I created Sound Wellness in the fall of 2008 to help people bring harmony and healing to their lives with the powerful effects of sound.
From 2008 to 2016 – my nine year cycle – Sound Wellness has grown to serve thousands of people all over the world with our products and online programs. People are now flying to Calgary to take our live programs.
But 2016 was a nine year and the ending of the cycle. Our business went into an incubation mode. Everything slowed down. Both Ed and I were pretty frustrated about this at first and both went within to discover what needed to be completed and released.
My personal one year began in July, 2016. That month a seed was planted. We were offered an opportunity to create something beyond anything I could ever have imagined in the previous cycle.
We have created and defined a new modality called Sound Wellness.
We have created the Sound Wellness Institute.
We are creating a level of training and certification of competency for Sound Wellness practitioners that does not exist anywhere on the planet!
We have been approaching practitioner associations across North America to ask that they add Sound Wellness to their lists of acceptable modalities. So far, we haven’t found one practitioner association that even has sound healing or sound therapy on their lists of acceptable modalities.
I am beyond excited to see what this next 9 year cycle will bring!
Prepare for Your 1 Year
As you move into 2017, contemplate what has been completed and released in your life during 2016. Notice what seeds have been planted towards the end of 2016.
As you contemplate 2017, be open to the enormous gifts that are being offered you from the universe.
Now more than ever, you are being given the opportunity to choose to deepen your soul purpose and work in this world. It is needed more than ever!
