Sometimes someone asks you a question that just stops you in your tracks and makes you think. I’ll never forget two questions someone asked me many years ago.

The second question was: When did you stop dancing?

In other words: When did I stop feeling joyful?

Singing and dancing are expressions of being human. They have been with us since the dawn of time. When we are not singing and/or dancing we are missing out on something important.

Rhythm, Melody and Harmony = Life Force Energy

Have you ever had an experience with a song where you just had to move? To get up and dance? Sway your body back and forth? Or tap your toe? Have you ever noticed how hard it is to sing a lullaby to a baby and not sway back and forth?

Sometimes the rhythm of a song is so captivating you just have to move. One of my favourites is Congo from a CD called Mandala by Locos Bravos . The CD was a gift from a friend of mine and whenever I need a boost of joy, I put this on and just let myself move to the irresistible lively beat.

Rhythm is life itself.

Sometimes I love to let my imagination and spirit soar with a beautiful melody. So many people these days are plugged into their favourite music through their ipod or phone. How often do you see someone captured so much by a favourite song that they are singing along with joyful abandon? Or someone singing along while driving home from work? Melodies can be so inspiring. They can take you away from the problems of the moment.

And then there is harmony – the sounds that fill in all the spaces and support the melody. The sounds that can make us cry, laugh, remember. Here we have emotional content.

So where has the joy gone?

It hasn’t gone anywhere!

Joy sits in the human heart where it has always been. Though sometimes we forget that it’s there.

We THRIVE on harmony – even if it is just moments of harmony in a full day. Your soul needs this! When your soul is fed with harmony – your whole being responds with health and wellbeing!

The human body is a natural resonator for sound. You are WIRED to respond to sound from your atoms to your energetic networks!
