First – some definitions

carved pumpkins on HalloweenWith Halloween upon us, I’ve had a few questions about how to manage negative energy recently.

Here is what the world of physics says about Negative energy:

Negative energy is a concept used in physics to explain the nature of certain fields, including the gravitational field and a number of quantum field effects. In more speculative theories, negative energy is involved in wormholes which allow time travel and warp drives for faster-than-light space travel.

There is also a HUMAN contribution to negative energy that is different. For this, I’m sharing with you an excellent definition of negative energy from an article by Elaine Seiler called “Negative Energy (Part 1): What is it?”

“Now, let us look at negative energies within the context of the polarized, vibrationally-changing, three dimensional world of the earth. Negative energies are vibrations that are out of synch, out of balance and out of resonance with the agreed upon, valued energies of that space, time, or field. What may be negative or toxic for one, may not be so for another. Very high or very low energy might make the individuals in a given field feel nauseous, dizzy, electrified, depressed, or ill. That disparate energy might be called ‘negative’ when in fact, it is not ‘negative’ at all; it is just different, and unwelcome in that particular situation. In the third dimension, we refer to it as negative energy. In the dimensions beyond the physical, there is no negative or positive, there is only energy.”

A story . . .

I would like to share a story with you for those who are unfamiliar with this experience of unwelcome energy.

Many of you know that I’m a physical empath. Negative, or unwelcome, energy – or any energy, for that matter – has always had a deep impact on me. And that has been a long journey of learning. And figuring out how to manage its impact on me.

Let me describe one of my experiences with negative energy to allow you to glimpse it through my perceptions.

This happened in 2006. I was working on producing and recording my CD “Transmutation.” I was also thrilled to be collaborating with a good friend of mine on another CD project, creating the sound track for her meditations.

On top of this, I also had a full teaching schedule and other volunteer commitments. My days were pretty full.

One of the very special people in my life has always been my mother-in-law, Peggy. I adored her. We had so much fun doing many things together – getting our hair done and treating ourselves to lunch – planning the flower gardens around our house (she was a MASTER gardener) – craft projects for Christmas – scrapbooking together and so much more.

I always treasured my time with her.

My mothe-in-law PeggyPeggy, though, was a champion worrier. She had a brilliant mind. But when she was focused on the negative stuff, she could create a very powerful field. Especially when she was focused on one person in particular.

A side note here – Thoughts have powerful energy. They are VERY real in a physical sense. Powerfully focused thoughts can create fields, like clouds. Positive thoughts create positive fields. And negative thoughts create negative fields.

Positive thought fields make you feel wonderful, vibrant, blissful and more, like standing on the shores of Lake Louise in Canada. Negative thought fields can feel buzzy, heavy, thick, creepy. Like when the hairs on the back of your neck are raised when you are creeped out.

I hadn’t realized the strength of Peggy’s “worry” fields until one morning, while I was driving to a recording session with my friend. I received a blast of energy that almost drove me off the road. I physically hit the steering wheel.

I don’t get this kind of blast very often and I immediately asked for its source. Peggy came to my mind immediately and I knew that she had been focusing her worry energy on me.

It took me 20 to 30 minutes of vocal toning and clearing to get that energy out of my being. And to return to feeling ‘myself’ again.

What you NEED to know about ‘worry’

Worry creates a powerful negative thought field. And this thought field has a physical reality.

When you are worrying about someone in particular – they RECEIVE this energy. Whether they are aware of it or not.

You may not realize this – but YOU receive the full blast of this energy too.

So what is ‘worry?’

worry, fear, anxiety, and moreHere’s a definition from Google:

Worry – To give way to anxiety or unease; allow one’s mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.”

Check out the list of synonyms!

fret, be concerned, be anxious, agonize, overthink, brood, panic, lose sleep, get worked up, get stressed, get in a state, stew, torment oneself
"she worries about his health"

Worry is nothing but FEAR!! It is every possible negative situation your mind can come up with!!

And what does that do?

It creates a powerful field filled with FEAR all around you!

And if you are focusing those thoughts of fear on someone else – they too receive this field filled with FEAR.

There’s another part of this that is also damaging your own health. Every time you have a fearful thought, you are flooding your body with the stress hormones, adrenalin and cortisol.

The U.S. Center for Disease Control has stated that more than HALF of all deaths of those UNDER 65 are because of stress.

Have you ever heard or said “I was worried to death about you!” Does this information give you a different perspective on ‘worry?’ I hope so!

The end of the story . . .

Back to my story. What did I do?

I made the decision to take responsibility for my own worry thoughts.

I gathered my 2 sons around the kitchen table and made a solemn promise to them. I promised them that I would NEVER worry about them again.

Whenever they are in a situation where they could be in danger – like driving on icy roads – I consciously surround them with a bubble of golden light. Then, for example, if they are on icy roads, I imagine a golden path all the way from where they are to their destination.

I also had a heart to heart conversation with Peggy about her worry energy.

She knew of my sensitivities and was quite shocked when I told her that I had felt the effect of her worrying about me. She had been worrying about me that day.

I told her what it felt like and asked her not to worry about me anymore. I asked her that if she noticed her mind moving into habitual worry thoughts, that she create the intention to notice them and imagine me in a golden bubble of light instead.

I know she did her best. But 80 some odd years of habitual negative thought patterns isn’t really changed in a day.

There are many different kinds of what we would call ‘negative’ energy. But with all the chaos in our world right now, ‘worry’ is RAMPANT!

And as you now know, ‘worry’ thoughts have serious consequences. Especially to your own wellbeing.

That’s why this article has focused on that one aspect of negative energy.

My hope and prayer is that with a little more awareness and responsibility for our own thoughts, we can actually save some lives.

And find the PEACE that always feeds us.
