Our lives are moving at a frantic pace. Busy isn’t even just busy anymore. It’s crazy busy.
The simple fact is our world is moving faster and faster. And we’re desperately trying to keep up, but at what cost?
When was the last time that you took time to relax – when you did absolutely nothing? Or perhaps just doing something you really enjoy – a hike in the mountains, enjoying a favourite hobby, having a quiet cup of coffee sitting on the porch, while soaking in the morning sun? Time just for you. Not your spouse. Not your kids. For you!
The truth is that this pretty rare. We always have something to do. Or feel that we have to get something done. With cell phones, and laptops, and tablets, we’re never disconnected any more.
And we’ve become comfortable with it. Comfortable with being uncomfortable.
And what has that done to us?
Have you noticed that crazy busy has become the new normal?
And how does it make you feel?
Irritable?
Impatient?
Intolerant?
How often do you experience any of these?
- Do you lie awake at night because your mind keeps racing?
- Do you get upset when caught up in traffic that’s moving too slow?
- Do you feel that problems are piling up so high that you can’t overcome them?
- Have you found that you couldn’t cope with all the things on your ‘to do’ list – that you can never get caught up?
- Do you get upset when things happen unexpectedly?
- Do you have trouble concentrating at work?
Whew! Welcome to being human in the 21st century!
EVERY ONE of the questions I asked you above, describes a symptom of stress. Stress has become a huge part of our daily life these days.
The Facts: What are You Ignoring?
In fact, so much so, that The World Health Organization has called stress the “health epidemic of the 21st century.
And on top of that, the U.S. Center for Disease Control has reported that more than HALF of all deaths of those under 65 are because of stress.
Then there’s the icing on the cake.
There are many studies that confirm that in North America, between 80 and 90% of all doctor’s visits are related to conditions caused by stress. Yet, only 3% of those visits were made because the patient felt that stress was a problem. That’s a huge disconnect.
What this really means is that about 95% of those who are suffering from a stress-related illness are neither aware of the significant level of stress that they are under, nor of the consequences of that stress.
All of this is pretty sobering!!!
So many of us are IGNORING what we BELIEVE to be a part of everyday life that is actually COSTING us our health, our relationships, our life force energy and so much more.
I’m the kind of person who, for most of my life, tends to HOLD ON to things. Especially emotional stuff.
All that has ever given me is aches and pains from tight muscles, horrible quality of sleep, irritability, an irregular heartbeat at times, respiratory symptoms, and who knows what else I don’t even KNOW has been lurking in my being.
And one of the WORST things – disconnection from my own intuitive knowing, spiritual essence and life force energy.
And ALL of these symptoms came from taking the nonsensical fears rolling around in my ego mind WAY too seriously! Every one of those fearful thoughts or judgments just dumped more stress hormones into my system making EVERYTHING worse!
Once I finally got the two by four hit to my head and really started to understand what I was doing to myself, I became a passionate watcher of my thoughts.
I can tell you – when I first started this – I was pretty horrified at what I noticed. Then I had to realize that being horrified by my thoughts dumped even more stress hormones into my system. So I had to watch THAT too!
Your Natural Wiring for Sound = Natural Stress Relief
I also noticed how wonderful I felt whenever I played my guitar. So I started to do some serious investigating and training in how sound and music heals.
And what does that give me?
Here’s a short list:

It effortlessly
- creates relaxation
- reduces pain
- boosts my immune system
- dissolves emotional blocks
- stimulates the natural healing ability of my body
- helps me to be present in my life, rather than being captured by the ongoing mind chatter
- gives me deep soul connection and peace
Sound and music are some of the most powerful tools to manage your biochemistry – especially the stressful stuff.
WHY?
Because you are as deeply wired to respond to sound, with the release of hormones that reduce symptoms of stress and keep you healthy, as you are wired to release stress hormones that cause illness.
Are you curious to learn how to do this for yourself?
