If Fairy Dust was a sound…it would be the sound of a SongPod.
I found my first SongPod many years ago while browsing the booths at one of my favorite wellness trade fairs. It was sitting alone on a shelf and there was something about it that magnetized my curiosity.
Have you ever had one (or many) of those experiences where you just knew that there was a connection between you and something else? It was like that with me and this little metal instrument.
As I picked it up, it gave a little tinkling sound and I was completely captivated! With a big smile, I bought it on the spot and this little SongPod had a new home. It was the perfect sound for a new recording project I was working on at the time!
SongPods are like that. Most people know from the first gentle tinkles that there is a place for its sound in their life and work.
In case you haven’t met its sound yet, a SongPod is a hardy little egg-shaped metal instrument that fits in the palm of your hand. It’s gentle sprinkling of sound brings a smile to every face.
Over the years, I found many ways to use my little SongPod. Here are a few:
- Sprinkling it like salt and pepper, it is a wonderful way to bless and clear food and water.
- Sprinkling it in a client’s biofield at the end of a session brings smiles, calm, and delight in addition to an effective clearing and integration of the work we did together.
- Sprinkling it all around my own biofield is a wonderful vibrational ‘pick-me-up’ when my energy dips.
- Our dog, Patches, who had painful arthritis in her hips, loved the SongPod sprinkled all around her hips. The sound and energy helped to relax her muscles and allow her to move more comfortably.
- It turned out to be and quick and effective way for me to clear my sound tools. Sprinkling it or clacking two SongPods together all around the singing bowl or tool cleared it of all heavier energy. (Yes, I bought another SongPod. Clapping, or clacking them together is a whole new sound experience!)
- Clacking two SongPods together is a powerful sound to help shift stuck energy in the body. Follow this release with a gentle sprinkle to fill the space with light and high vibration.
The SongPod found many supportive uses during our Sound Wellness Institute workshops and we started receiving requests for how to find them. After a wide search, we found one woman, Amy Lee, who invented and was making the SongPods. After connecting with her and sharing the many ways I was already using her beautiful little SongPods, she agreed to sell them to us in batches of 6 to 12, so that we could pass on their magical sound to our course participants and their clients.
When I asked her what was inside, she said that it is meant to be a part of the mystery. She did share that there could be Crystals, Shards of ancient pottery, Beads from her Great-Great-Grandmother’s long-ago sash, Earth from a mound, Sand from a sea, Dust of volcanic ash, a pinch of this, and a sprinkle of that.

We were sad to hear when AmyLee transitioned to the ‘other side’ a few years ago. Fortunately, she trained an apprentice, who now makes these beautiful little instruments in the same loving way AmyLee did.
