The greatest challenge we have these days is not allowing our focus to dwell on the chaos and instability of the outer world. And to ground ourselves into the stability of the heart.
Your heart knows how to transform fear into purpose. Chaos is fuel for creating purpose.
The culture of chronic fear we are inundated with and its effect on your nervous system and body is worse than any pandemic will ever be! All of this has created an epidemic of negative mindset. And an enormous number of people who are more focused on the inner chatter of the mind than on the world around them.
Stress (including the incessant chatter) hijacks the thinking part of your brain. And leaves it at the mercy of the emotional brain and unconscious behavior.
Chronic fear keeps you locked in the fight or flight response and this adversely affects every system in your body – including your immune system.
Your body is not designed to experience stress for an extended period of time. The consequences of extended stress are severe.
There is a saying that a ‘picture is worth a thousand words.’ Here is an image that lists just a few symptoms caused by chronic fear and the stress it creates.

So, how do we manage this fear when it feels like we are being bathed in it everywhere we go these days?
Sound is food for your nervous system. And like food, we know that there is junk sound, good sound and super sound.
Here are five tips on how to reconnect with that beautiful inner you.
1. Heart / Brain Coherence
First, imagine that your nose is right in front of your heart and breathe directly into your heart.
- Notice your breathing.
- Allow yourself to take deeper, slow breaths into the belly.
- As you inhale again, imagine that your nose is in front of your heart.
- Do this for 5 more breaths.
- As you continue breathing in and out of your heart, add a gentle hum for the next 5 breaths.
- Notice how you feel.

- Put on some lively music and move or dance. Move out any energy that is not yours.
- Stand in the grass in your bare feet. Ground into the earth and let any energy that is not yours drain out through your feet.
- Listen to nature sounds. They bring you back into balance so gently.
- Laugh! Laughter is great medicine that returns you back to harmony in a wonderfully fun way.
