You are a multidimensional being. Examples of some of the dimensions of your being that are experienced in everyday life are the physical dimension, the emotional dimension, the mental dimension, the social dimension and the spiritual dimension.
In today’s blog, we explore the fourth letter of the word HARMONY in our acronym: Multidimensional.
Harmony occupies the core of the spiritual dimension of your being. This is your natural state. Harmony sits deep in your heart. This beautiful place of peace is a permanent part of your being. You can never lose this peace. It is with you forever.
It is possible to become out of tune with this place of harmony and peace. Sound (and music) is a powerful way to help you reconnect with that beautiful, inner you. Sound is a multidimensional energy – like you.
Some of the dimensions within sound are silence from which everything emerges. Then there is OM, the hum of the universe. Melody carries the soul of music. Your soul’s song or melody is the frequency used by all your guides and angels to connect with you. Every soul has its own unique song. Rhythm is a building block of our familiar third dimension, for everything is in motion and follows a regular pattern – from atoms to heartbeats to waves to galaxies.
Harmony brings us into another dimension where we know that each of us is a part of the whole.
If you have explored some of the spiritual community lately, you may have noticed conversation regarding the third dimension and the fifth dimension or even other dimensions. We live in a third dimensional world that is interpreted through our senses: what we see, what we hear, what we touch, what we smell and what we taste. You may have found that interpretation needing to expand lately.
This third dimensional lens doesn’t always acknowledge an expanding sixth sense that so many people are experiencing: their intuition. There isn’t really a ‘third dimensional’ explanation for intuition. We need to expand our perceptual lens in order to understand this natural human ability.
That expanded view comes from your heart. When you consciously bring your awareness into your heart, instead of in your brain, your way of seeing the world around you expands. Your heart has infinite capacity through its connection to your spiritual self or soul.
“The human heart contains the greatest power on earth; it can potentially operate the universe to create the conditions and experiences it needs, but when blocked, the energy of the heart cannot project into the world.” (from Energize Your Heart by Puran and Susanna Bair)
Recent experiments have shown that there is more information travelling from the heart to the brain than there is from the brain to the heart. In order to create optimal wellbeing and function, we need to connect the heart and the brain. In frequency language, that means that they operate at the same frequency.
This has many advantages from improving clarity and focus to improving health and wellbeing. The heart is the most important part of this equation.
I invite you to explore the following simple exercise to create coherence between your heart and your brain.
- Begin by focusing on your heart allowing your awareness to settle there. Place your hand or hands over your heart, if you wish, to help you bring your awareness there.
- Now imagine your nose is in your chest in from of your heart. Breathe at least 5 deep, slow breaths in and out of your heart.
- As you continue to breathe in and out of your heart, add a gentle hum on the outbreath. Do this for at least 10 to 15 breaths. More is better.
- As you continue to gently hum with your focus on your heart, allow the sound to nourish your heart.
This simple exercise of the breath and sound at your heart gently brings your heart and brain into coherence.
You may notice that your mind has become quieter as you focus on your breath and your heart. You may notice that you are feeling calmer and more relaxed. You may notice that your quiet mind is more focused and clear.
You may also notice the quiet, peaceful voice of your soul. I encourage you to continue breathing in and out of your heart as you welcome that inner voice. Write down what you hear, feel or sense.
