It’s the sound!
The fact is – the sounds of a babbling brook, waves or even a water fountain are some of the healthiest sounds there are for the human being.
When you hang out around these sounds for a while they affect your heartbeat, your breathing, your brainwaves and your entire nervous system.
These sounds contain a wide range of frequencies – from low to high. The low frequency sounds in the brook, waves or fountain actually cause your nervous system to discharge excess emotional energy.
What does that mean? You relax! Your heartbeat slows down. Your breathing slows down. Your mind shows down. And you move into a relaxed state.
With all the chaos in the air these days – who couldn’t use that!
While you are enjoying your relaxed state listening to the bubbling water by the brook – do you notice the birds singing?
Birdsong is another one of the healthiest sounds there are for the human being.
So, what is it about birdsong that makes it healthy?
The fact is – it sharpens your mind. Who couldn’t use that with all the distractions we have to deal with in a day!
Birdsong consists of high sounds and you never know when a bird is going to sing. They are totally unpredictable.
Your brain loves patterns and constantly looks for them. But the brain can’t find any patterns in birdsong.
The result is the brain becomes alert, focused and productive.
Ok. So what happens when you have both the water sounds and the birdsong going on at the same time?

Your body is relaxed and your mind is focused!
