This is the third of a 4-part series

In the previous two blogs, we explored the physical and mental dimensions of a holistic approach to your business. If you haven’t read them yet, CLICK HERE. (Physical Dimension  Mental Dimension)  The lens of viewing your business as a living entity brings fascinating insight. Our focus today is on exploring the Emotional Dimension of a holistic business, especially a heart-based business.

Mental-Emotional-Physical-SpiritualEmotions are a power source for human beings! We may think that logic and the thinking brain rules the day.

The truth is – one emotional trigger or response can hijack the thinking brain faster than the speed of thought, leaving you in an emotional soup!

Your heart rules the day! And it can rule your business, making it irresistible. Or the opposite.

When you ask your brain/mind to support what feels right to your heart and apply it to your business, you create coherence between the brain and the heart. This brings stability, caring and flow to your business.

When you ask your heart to follow your brain/mind, you create imbalance. Science has confirmed that your heart sends more information to your brain than your brain sends to your heart. Negative emotions can easily overwhelm your thinking brain and leave you with conditioned emotional response that most likely does not serve you or your business.

The Emotional dimension of a holistic approach to your business includes qualities like:

  1. Managing your own feelings about your business –
    • How do you handle frustrations?
    • Is it a job or a passion?
    • How do you handle tasks you really don’t like to do?
  2. Managing your interactions with co-workers and customers
    • Customers, clients and co-workers love feeling really cared for by your business.
    • Positive emotions that support your business are grounded in safety, security, acknowledgement, fairness, kindness, and more.
  3. Sacred Space.
    • In your place of business, physical space or online space, how do you create a feel good energy within that space? Sacred Space actually creates a bridge between the emotional and spiritual dimensions. Sacred Space offers you, your business, your customers and co-workers coherence and a high vibration. ANYTHING becomes possible within this space.

1. Self-Love / Business-Love

Numerous studies report the many physical benefits of the feeling of gratitude. Not only does gratitude feed your heart and health, it is a powerful growth vitamin for your business.

This is an exercise I do regularly with my list of things I am grateful for in my life. Put it in your calendar to remind you to do this once a week or once a month.

GRATITUDE EXERCISE:

  1. In the blog that focused on the Physical Dimension, you created a list of everything you can think of related to the physical dimension of your business. If you have not created a list, please click here for ideas from that blog: https://soundwellness.com/a-holistic-approach-to-your-business/
  2. Now that you have your list, hold your list in front of your heart. If you have a gratitude journal, hold that in front of your heart along with your list.
  3. Sing the sound “Ahhh” for a minimum of 10 minutes. Use a pitch or note that is comfortable for your voice and sing gently. Set your timer on your phone or computer.
  4. At the end of the allotted time, sit in silence for a minute or two. Notice how you feel. You have just stimulated your nervous system to release hormones and endorphins that stimulate health and have created gratitude and coherence in your heart, brain and in your business.

2. Customer Love

We have all had experiences where we felt that we were treated as valued and important as customers. Several years ago, on a cold day in February, I was in my car on the way to speak in a town about an hour and a half drive away. We were just about at the outskirts of town when the rear view window in the car exploded into a million pieces.

My husband, Ed, was driving. He immediately pulled off the highway and after we caught our breath and made sure we were ok, we had to figure out what to do next.

Ed called our insurance company for recommendations and I called the conference organizer where I was speaking to see if I could re-schedule my talk for later in the day. She was able to do that, so we had an extra couple of hours before I had to be on the road again.

We ended up at Speedy Glass. After I shared my story that I had a speaking engagement later that afternoon, they stopped their work on one of the cars they were servicing, and while we were waiting, they vacuumed out our car, replaced the back window with a temporary plastic film and sent us on our way.

We arrived at our destination with half an hour to spare to prepare and set up for my session at the conference.

They literally saved my day and I am a customer for life!

EXERCISE

  1. Make a list of all the ways your business currently shows love and appreciation.
  2. Add to your list any other ways to show appreciation that you can incorporate.
  3. Do #2 to #4 of the previous exercise.

3. Sacred Space

As a sensitive empath, I have been aware of energy fields for a long time, both positive and negative aspects. I have used specific sacred sounds and mantras to help me co-create sacred and beautiful space for Sound Wellness’ events for many years.

Om, the Medicine Buddha Mantra and clearing mantras accompanied by my voice, intention and an amazing Tibetan singing bowl have created healing and sacred space in hotel meeting rooms, community halls and even in our booth at trade fairs.

People continually share with me how wonderful they feel in the sacred space created for our events.

I have also found that if we use the same meeting room for future events, the space has a memory of the energy field originally created and it is recreated easily and quickly.

Can you imagine the energy field you can create in a space where you live or work every day? If this is something that would serve you and/or your clients, you can create a space that feels amazing.

Exercise: Create Sacred Space

Here are some tips on how to do this. Make sure no one else in your space.

  1. Begin by being in a clear space yourself. You can meditate on or contemplate what you are grateful for. A strong feeling of gratitude raises your vibration to create a clear space to work from in creating this positive, healing field.
  2. Focus your intention to create Sacred Space in your space.
  3. If you have a special singing bowl, tingshas or other sound tools that have a sound with the quality you want to bring into your space, use them too.
  4. Choose the sacred sounds you want to sing into your space. Note: using a singing sound carries great energy when combined with your focused intent.
  5. Holding gratitude in your heart, move around the room, singing your mantra or sound in the space along with your other sound tools, if you have chosen to use them.
  6. Repeat.

Sacred space is a great gift to give all those who enter your space. Including you. It is a place of wellbeing, harmony and support where you can offer your greatest work.

In Health and Harmony,
